Over our vacation Cale and I celebrated our 4th year of marriage. Our favorite anniversary tradition is to watch our wedding video and to remember where and how this whole adventure started.
It holds us accountable to our vows and the covenant we made to each other and before God.
To be honest this year has been one of the hardest years of our marriage. Not in the since of fighting or not getting along. This year we lost Cale’s dad to cancer and so we’ve been through a lot of emotional ups and downs.
More so than usual.
We’ve learned that time doesn’t stop for you to dwell in the past. You’ve gotta keep moving forward and know that somehow, somewhere it will get easier.
And there are times that you don’t want to deal with the responsibilities of life but at some point you just have to jump back in again.
You have to keep moving forward and look for opportunities to feel again. To laugh again. To find true joy again.
And sometimes those moments come as little unexpected surprises… which might be just what makes them so dang wonderful.
This anniversary was our first one shared as a family. As much as Cale wanted me to jump in the river and swing on the swings along with him we we’re constantly reminded that life is still changing right before our very eyes. Little Noodle is coming. Through the good and the bad our marriage has been a true adventure but we can’t help but believe that the greatest adventure is yet to come.
31 weeks and counting!
